AEP Precision Engineering began trading in 1984 as a small sub-contract machine shop and maintains relationships with customers from that era, Smith Metal Fabrications being one.
In 1990, an alliance between AEP & SMF was formed when SMF secured a major contract for medical equipment which required a large variation of machined parts. This partnership, along with its highly skilled staff, has been able to offer customers a unique and large range of facilities not commonly found under one roof.
Whilst AEP was a small company, the partnership with SMF had allowed AEP to invest in bigger and better equipment. This has enabled the company to undertake work in the semi-conductor, medical, electrical, automotive, shop fitting and building industries whilst maintaining a flexible and professional approach to all our customers.
In 2016, SMF purchased AEP from former Director Peter Woolford. Two experienced engineers were employed to take the AEP/SMF partnership forward. With over 30 years experience between them, they have worked with a variety of materials in a wide variety of industries including automotive, medical and ministry of defence.
Looking to the future, AEP will be investing in new equipment and expanding on new and existing customer relationships.
